Work History
2007-Present – Owner and Director, Under the Umbrella for children on the spectrum. Responsibilities include hiring staff, development of curriculum, conducting assessments, communicating with parents and professionals and educating children in the areas of academic, social, and emotional development.
2002-Present – Under the Umbrella – Home based business, turned learning center, tutoring students from Early Childhood- College with an emphasis on children with learning differences. These differences include ADD, Dyslexia, Sensory Integration, Autism Spectrum, Early Childhood Intervention and Deaf Ed. Students also receive help with homework, test strategies and academic enrichment and therapy. We also provide Staff Development to both private and public schools.
04/01/2001-2003- Bending Oaks Private School - Responsible for teaching students in grades 8-12. Subjects taught (teaching) SAT Prep, Algebra, Psychology, Biology, Study Skills, Sociology and Health. My job description includes designing and implementing lesson plans, coordinating field trips, and mentoring the students

01/99-05/01- Dallas Independent School District – Responsible for teaching children with emotional problems, social skills, cooperation and academics. Parent communication, teamwork and implementing curriculum that is appropriate.

- Chairperson for the National Handicap Awareness Month – Organizing activities and disseminating information to teachers, students and parents regarding challenges many people in society face physically, mentally and emotionally.
- Crisis Intervention Team – Planning, organizing and implementing crisis intervention strategies to meet the needs of students, parents and community.
- Discipline Management Team – Planning, organizing and implementing discipline management for the school. This involves helping teachers find interventions and strategies to best meet the needs of students, teachers and parents.
